Committee on the Environment (COTE) is committed to educating professionals
and the public on sustainable design issues and supporting an agenda of various
public and private agencies and organizations. Our belief is that design excellence
can only be discussed within the context of sustainability.
2008 Green Champions Summit
 On Tuesday, October 21st, COTE hosted the 2nd Annual Green Champions Summit at the AIA Center for Architecture. Mark Frankel with the New Buildings Institute and Clark Brockman with SERA Architects facilitated the interactive and informational event. The Summit was aimed at propelling Portland toward meeting the Architecture 2030 Challenge Goal of designing and constructing carbon neutral buildings by 2030 and meeting the milestone CO2 reduction goals that begin in 2010. A special thanks goes out to all of you who participated in this inspiring event. The turnout was impressive and the discussion, ideas and enthusiasm will translate into action in the coming months.
